Georgia's Almost Home! An update from Costa Rica!
How is it November already? Only a month left of our tropical adventures and we plan to make the most of it. Something we continue to look forward to is our families visiting for Thanksgiving week. Although Costa Rica doesn’t celebrate the holiday, we can’t wait to share the delicious food and adventures here with them! We plan to spend November in the Manuel Antonio area, which is a magical combination of rainforest, beaches, hills, and coral reefs, making it one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Here are some things we have been up to this past month:
Working from the jungle: We have been hard at work throughout the day with lots of company from our wildlife friends! Monkeys, macaws, toucans, and more pop by each day.
Más y más comida: We thought we would get sick of gallo pinto, a traditional rice and beans dish here, but we can’t get enough of it. We might even continue having it upon our return! One of our favorite breakfast dishes is a plato típico (typical plate), seen in the picture below. It typically consists of gallo pinto, eggs, tortilla, fried cheese, plantains, and some sort of fruit.
More activities/adventures: Halloween isn’t celebrated much here, and we wanted to continue our usual pumpkin-carving tradition. We couldn’t find pumpkins, but we did get our hands on some ayotes (term for squash in Central America) and managed to carve them! Other adventures included Nauyaca Falls, where we discovered some of the most powerful and breathtaking waterfalls in Costa Rica. Another favorite was visiting La Leona waterfall, where we ventured through caves and the bluest water we’ve seen.
All in all, we are having an excellent time! Thank you to those of you who are taking the time to read this blog! If you have any questions about my journey or our teletherapy services, please feel free to reach out at georgia@millertherapyllc.com. ¡Hasta luego!
